Sometimes, a nail color trend just hits different. Like last summer, when butter yellow became all the rage, I couldn’t help but think, “This is so pretty. Why is this a trend and not just a wear-all-the-time-forever-and-ever color?” And I don’t think I’m alone. While some turned up the yellow tones to radioactive levels for summer 2025, we’re still seeing plenty of people picking a pale, pastel version from the salon’s wall o’ polishes. And some, like Kourtney Kardashian, are getting subtly creative with the color to keep things fresh.
Typically, if you see that the whites of someone’s fingernails are yellow, it’s a little off-putting. But in Kardashian’s case, it’s downright adorable. The entrepreneur posted a nice, clear close-up of her hand to her Instagram Stories over the weekend, revealing that she’s still loving the butter yellow trend, and making it work for a non-traditional French manicure.
Her left hand holds the handle of a teacup, letting her show off her perfectly oval-shape nails with a pretty beige-pink base, topped off with a just-barely-yellow French tip. (Truly, it almost looks off-white at first glance.) “Butter yellow tips,” she wrote, adding a butter and yellow heart emoji, and tagging her Los Angeles nail artist, Lisa Kon.
