Miley Cyrus has always been an old soul, incorporating various musical eras into her sound to create something all her own. She does the same with her hair and style—pulling in throwback trends, mixing them up, and coming out totally Miley. With the release of her latest album Something Beautiful and its accompanying film, Cyrus has embraced a late-’80s, early-’90s vibe, posing on the red carpet in sky-high bangs and tons of wavy, hair metal-star texture. And it keeps getting bigger and better!
For a recent trip to Paris, Cyrus took the volume up to 11 with long, tousled waves thrown over her shoulder. Her highlighted honey-bronde hair was parted to the side with the shorter front layers curled and teased for that classic “mall bang” look, complete with a defined “swoop” lifted a few inches from her hairline. Velcro rollers may have been involved, and probably a healthy spritz of hairspray. The rest of Cyrus’s hair was styled in messy unfussy waves to add a rock ‘n roll edge to her fitted (and very on-theme) Eiffel Tower dress, as though she styled them the day before, played a show, got a few hours of sleep, and ran her hands through her hair before heading out for the day.
