What It Means For You?

One of our distributors is Tru Massage Chairs—that’s T-R-U. They’re based out of Georgia, and we’ve been carrying their premium chairs for about three years now. When we opened our Northern California store, we started offering Tru chairs. They’re a relatively new distributor on the scene.

Even though Christy Kim and her brother Andrew had previously been selling premium massage chairs online (like I do now), they decided to launch their own brand. And I’ve got to say, they’re good chairs—well-built, strong, and backed by a solid warranty: one year of labor and three years of parts, with shipping included in the purchase price.

When we ordered a chair, shipping was already paid for—baked into the cost. But recently, Tru made a significant change to their business model, and to me, it’s pretty drastic. That said, it’s a move they felt was necessary.

As I’ve mentioned in past videos, there are a lot of massage chairs being sold online direct-to-consumer. These chairs aren’t available in showrooms, so customers can’t try them before buying. Many are cheaply made, heavily marketed, and priced between $2,500 and $5,000. The marketing is slick, the price points attractive, but the quality… not so much.

Tru Massage Chairs—Christy and Andrew—found it increasingly difficult to compete with these online sellers. So about a month ago, they completely overhauled their business model and significantly slashed their prices.

For example, the Tru Eclipse Plus, one of their top-tier chairs, typically retailed for $11,000. Now? They’re selling it for $5,999.

And let me be clear: these are not cheap chairs made in questionable factories with low-quality parts, poor quality control, or short lifespans. These are premium chairs—the kind we specialize in selling. So I was honestly surprised when they changed their pricing strategy.

However, this shift comes with a few trade-offs. The biggest one? These chairs now only come with a one-year parts warranty—no labor coverage included.

That’s common in the direct-to-consumer space, but it’s a downgrade from Tru’s previous coverage. The difference, though, is that Tru’s chairs are better—much better built, and produced in top-tier factories. So you’re still getting a chair that’s going to last you years, even with the scaled-back warranty.

We currently have three or four Tru models listed on our website, all deeply discounted.

  • The Crown, their split-track model, is priced at $7,999, regularly around $13,999, if I recall correctly.

  • The Eclipse, like I mentioned, is now $5,999.

  • The Symphony, which we have in a few of our showrooms, is down to $4,499.

They’ve made these drastic pricing moves because, quite frankly, they’ve brought in a lot of inventory and are struggling to move it due to fierce online competition.

Now, I don’t know how long they’ll keep this model in place. But for the time being, the value you’re getting—a high-quality massage chair at these prices—is extremely compelling.

And to help sweeten the deal, when you purchase a Tru chair from Massage Chair Relief, we’ll include two additional years of labor coverage. While it won’t be our standard lifetime labor warranty, you’ll still be protected for at least two years.

We’ve had the Eclipse, Symphony, and Iconic models in our showrooms, and they’ve held up very well. I believe we’ve only had one chair with an issue—and that was quickly resolved.

So, if you’re shopping on a tighter budget and don’t mind a scaled-down warranty, I would absolutely recommend checking out Tru Massage Chairs while these discounts last. Just keep in mind that profit margins are very slim for both Tru and us right now. They’re working to unload what I believe are eight containers worth of inventory.

You’re getting a great chair—one I have personal experience with and genuinely trust. Tru makes quality products, and this pricing offers serious value.

So, take a look. Do your homework. Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions. Our showrooms are also available to help you get a feel for these chairs and what to expect from the experience.

I hope you found this video helpful. If you did, please give us a thumbs up, like our YouTube channel, and help us spread the word about massage chairs by sharing this video—or any of our videos—with your friends and family across social media.

I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from Massage Chair Relief, and I’ll see you in the next video. Bye-bye.
