I don’t know about you, but during the hottest days of summer, I want to wear as little makeup as possible—just a few products, max—but I still need to look pulled-together for video calls and meetings. Hailey Bieber gets it, and her latest in-the-car makeup tutorial shows that you can pull together an entire lewk with just two items in your makeup bag.
Of course, Bieber’s entire routine comes from her beauty brand, Rhode, but you could easily mimic her method with your own products. All it takes is a cream blush and a creamy lip liner and you’re basically a supermodel about to launch your brand at Sephora. It’s also perfect for a weekend away when you don’t want to pack a ton of products, or when you need a quick, easy mid-day refresh.

In the video, Bieber is seen hanging out in a (parked) car doing a quick makeup look. “GRWM only things I had in my purse,” she captioned the TikTok. She does most of her face with a surprising product: a lip liner! First, she uses it the traditional way, lining around her lips, but then she also uses it to contour, drawing the brown hue under her cheekbone, up into her hairline, and even down the sides and across the bridge of her nose! I’ve never tried contouring with a lip liner, but now, anything is possible; just make sure you’re working with a soft, blendable formula versus a more defined hard pencil.
Bieber then reaches for a cream blush, which she applies on her cheeks and on her lips—a popular use for a multitasking cheek formula—then takes the color upwards and smudges some across her eyelids for subtle definition. She notably does not wear mascara in the video, so it appears that Bieber is part of the “black mascara is dead” club at the moment. The final result is so summery: flushed and pretty, and the best part, easy!
