At the time of this recording, in April 2025, tariffs on products being imported into the United States are front and center in our economy—particularly tariffs on Chinese-made products. Prior to this week, tariffs were first 10%, then increased to 20% on Chinese-made products. As of this past week, they have now increased to 54%.
These added costs will be shared by the factories, the main distributors—such as Ohouuch, Osaki, Yoga, Infiniti, Diawa, and others—the retailers (including us), and eventually the consumer. As a result, the best advice in the current global and U.S. economic climate is to purchase your chair sooner rather than later, before new shipments arrive that are subject to the 54% tariff.
If you are considering a massage chair, don’t wait until Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Black Friday, or the Christmas holiday season. By then, the tariffs will likely have taken effect on incoming inventory. Of course, no one knows exactly what will happen—perhaps the tariff situation will settle down—but prices are expected to rise.
Current inventory already in the United States is not affected by the new tariffs because those products were shipped before the increase took effect. However, over the course of the year, you should expect higher prices as new inventory arrives.
I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from Massage Chair Relief, and I’ll see you in the next video. Bye-bye.
