One of my favourite things to do while watching any of the Real Housewives is to see their vanities, bathroom counters or dressers. I want to see all the beauty items but mostly the perfume, especially of my fav HWs. I don’t ever recall seeing a perfume in Carole Radziwill’s gorgeous apartment, but somewhere in an interview she mentioned Annick Goutal Étoile d’Une Nuit. I’d never smelled any of the perfumes from the Goutal Oiseaux de Nuit collection but after reading the notes of EdN I foolishly bought it online, blind. I say foolishly as I currently have two blind buys I want to throw as far away as possible. Luckily the Goutal is heavenly.
Annick Goutal describes Étoile d’Une Nuit like this:
Top notes: Italian Bergamot, Italian Mandarin, Blackberry
Heath notes: Iris, Rose, Egyptian Jasmine
Base Notes: Cashmere Wood, Vanilla, Musk
The vibe is supposed to be a powdery lipstick makeup effect. But I don’t really get that. My impression is a sweet iris with a warm sexy dry down. Soft rose. The fruity notes make a brief appearance but I don’t really get any jasmine. That said – it’s GORGEOUS. In my opinion it’s the kind of sweet perfume that someone is going to want to lean in to smell more of. Did I mention it’s soft? The Goutal site lists 80% natural ingredients, with a regulation referenced so I hope it’s legitimate. If so that makes the price make sense.

Even if I did get it on a discount site. Anyways. It’s a beauty! Carole obviously is super chic & I can see her rocking Étoile d’Une Nuit with gorgeous couture (probably stunning vintage!) or her perfect jeans and t shirt look. It’s become a go-to perfume for me, it’s so comforting and easy to wear.
