Rihanna Somehow Made Schoolgirl Pigtails Adult-Friendly — See the Photos

Rihanna is ready for back-to-school season. The musician and Fenty Beauty/Fenty Hair founder is taking us all back to our school days with the new FENTY x PUMA Creeper Phatty and its accompanying campaign, and she’s also giving the classic schoolgirl pigtails her own signature spin.

In the campaign video, which opens with the one and only Anjelica Huston playing the role of Riri’s teacher, we see the star in a school setting passing notes with her friends and blowing bubbles in class. Her long, honey-blonde hair is parted in the middle and styled in super-undone, messy pigtails loosely gathered up with little white bows and red hair ties, with a teeny braid on one side of her face fastened with an ivory floral clip. Long curtain bangs fall past her eyes down to her cheekbones. These are not prim and proper pigtails; these are fashion pigtails! (Huston’s tight, severe French twist and graphic eyeliner combo is pretty great too.)

Rihanna’s nails are on-theme too, in varying prints and patterns in collegiate shades of green, maroon, and gold, plus graphic black and white. One nail looks like an oversized houndstooth print, while another is a butter yellow color with a bold green stripe angled across the tip. One of her thumbs is painted in thick, alternating stripes of red, black, and gold, and the other is black with a yellow strip.
