Picture this: You’re minding your business out and about in NYC when suddenly, you turn a corner and Rihanna is standing there, filming an Instagram video and wearing one of her coolest hairstyles of the year so far. (Oh, and flashing her underwear at the camera!) This probably happened to someone, as Rih just posted a cheeky new video of herself showing off her Savage X Fenty undies and her fashion mullet.
But this isn’t your basic mullet. Not at all! Rihanna’s hair combines the iconic short-in-the-front, party-in-the-back mullet with an undercut and side bangs too. Her hair is a sandy blonde shade with a dramatic side bang brushed over to the side, and the mullet portion hits just below her collarbone to brush the top of her shoulders. This hairstyle would’ve done numbers on Tumblr back in the day for sure. “How is one person so cool,” commented a follower, effectively capturing everyone’s thoughts on the look.
The video itself is delightfully silly, with the Fenty Beauty founder flashing her black bra and underwear, skipping down the sidewalk, and posing in her miniskirt and Creepers. “Since I clearly won’t be achieving my six pack til next summer, I switched my summer goal to matching my shoes to my panties!” she wrote in her caption. She’s wearing minimal makeup under her oversized aviator glasses and an equally minimal manicure, all the better to let that legendary mullet shine.
