NAILS | I Sea You Wear OPI Swatch #CBBxManiMonday | Cosmetic Proof

We have been doing this #CBBxManiMonday thing for 9 years now and while I haven’t been the most consistent, I still do my nails fairly often and when I see them all done up even with just a plain nail polish colour, I feel super put together. This month’s theme is simple, but I think one of the more fun ones – “Shimmer and Glitter”!

I don’t normally wear blue nails, but this is the type of shimmer that is a little sheer so you either have to wear it over another polish or use three coats like me and still potentially “show off a little skin”. I didn’t keep these nails for more than a few days as I kind of felt weird having blue nails at work and it also reminded me of a story a very VIP client once shared of how she hates it when young girls paint their nails blue. This is because when she was very young, her family was quite poor and they often did not have food so their nail beds were blue from being malnourished. In her mind, painting your nails blue means essentially sickness and poverty so THAT has kind of stuck with me!

It was a fun colour to wear at least for a little bit and I cannot wait to delve into my other shimmer/glitter polishes! I think I’m going to go back and get nostalgic with some of my older shades especially from Sally Hansen! They used to come out with so many cool glitter collections in the mid 2010s when nail art was in its heydey so get ready to see those!
