The pumpkin head is off, but that doesn’t mean Megan Thee Stallion is done having fun from the neck up. The rapper isn’t one to wait until Halloween—or even October—to experiment with wigs in nontraditional colors, and for those of us who don’t live fast and loose with our hair looks, it lets us live vicariously through her. And now, the latest opportunity to let Meg have some hair-color fun for all of us has popped up on social media.
Megan shared a video on both TikTok and Instagram in which she dances in a silky black robe as hairstylist Kellon Deryck lip-syncs into what appears to be a T3 SinglePass curling iron. But as mesmerizing as her moves are, there’s no ignoring her hair.
Reaching well past her waist, Meg’s hair is a vibrant violet color—a blue-leaning purple that just scratches every little brain itch you might need satisfied. The straightened style flows along with her hips, though her thick, side-swept bangs appear to stay perfectly in place.
This, of course, is not the first time Megan Thee Stallion—a bona fide hair chameleon—has played with purple hair. Just last summer, she wore a dreamy lavender and pink combo that she matched to a pair of short shorts. And who could forget that amethyst updo she wore during her “WAP” era, which included a smoky purple and seafoam style in the video, too.
Knowing Meg, we may never see this particular look again unless it’s for an upcoming music video. And if that’s the case, we can’t wait to see how it’s paired with something other than a robe.
