Press samples
Lip oils are ALL the rage now and though I tell myself that the six I have are enough, I still find myself adding to my collection as I discover new textures, colours and my weakness – scents! Though these were press samples, I could not help but get overly excited for the Perricone MD No Makeup Lip Oils as I still remember when the No Makeup series launched and it was still somewhat novel for a true skincare brand to get into the makeup game.
Coming in six barely-there shades, these lip oils contain peptides, hyaluronic acid and pomegranate seed oil for smoother, plumper and more supple lips in one month with continuous use. There is also mango seed butter, argan oil, rose fruit oil and sunflower seed oil that makes this lip oil incredibly smooth upon application without feeling like the product is going to slide right off my lips like the oil on a greasy burger!
In terms of pricing, I have seen this range from $49-$52.50 CDN putting this on the pricey side of lip oils, but if you treat this more as a skincare product that “happens to be a lip oil” the price point is much more digestable.
The doe foot applicator is very large and all you will need is one swipe to cover your lips unless you wish to build up the colour. The scent is a subtle vanilla which I really cannot smell at all once this is on the lips.
As you can see from the swatches above (I was fairly heavy-handed), the pigmentation is very subtle and meant more to enhance your lips natural colour. These are also nice to apply on top of an existing lipstick as there is enough to glide in the formula to not disrupt what you have already applied.

As you can see, the colour is indeed very subtle and there were moments where I couldn’t tell what shade I had applied as the middle section looked pretty similar, but out of all six shades, Raspberry and Plum are the ones I use the most!
Final verdict: I think if you are lip oil lover, you will love this supple feeling, non-stick formula that fade slowly into a comfortable balmy finish. The only thing that might hold you back is the price tag, but again if you see this more as skincare and just get one shade, it’s quite reasonable! I haven’t used these for one month straight, but I hope that my lips improve over time! I have thrown one in my purse as a touch up for after lunches at work so we shall see!
