Happy birthday, Kim Kardashian! The Skims founder celebrated her birthday on the red carpet in Paris for the premiere of her forthcoming legal drama, All’s Fair, and in true Kim K fashion, she went full glam in a gorgeous vintage Dior gown, earful of diamonds, and the coolest chignon we’ve seen in awhile.
For the event, Kardashian and hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos opted for a classic chignon… with a twist. Instead of a simple twist or bun at the nape of her neck with nary a hair out of place, Kardashian’s updo with a little something extra. Her hair was pulled tightly back from her face and slicked down for a glossy, sleek foundation, then gathered at the crown and wrapped into a structural knot. But unlike a traditional chignon, where all pieces of hair are perfectly, pristinely wrapped and tucked in, Giannetos pulled out two small portions of hair from the knot, one on either side, and styled them super-straight and subtly curved under to add a modern, structural edge.
