Yup, you read that right. It’s officially been a whole quarter-century since Girlfriends first blessed our screens in 2000. That’s 25 years of Joan’s overanalyzing, Toni’s glam shade, Maya’s “Oh hell no” realness, Lynn’s boho vibes, and William being… well, William.
Whether you grew up on it, binge-watched it on Netflix, or caught reruns on BET, Girlfriends was the moment for Black women on TV. It wasn’t just a sitcom; it was a whole mood, a lifestyle, a sisterhood. And now, the crew is back together for a big anniversary glow-up.
In true full-circle fashion, the main cast linked up at the Chateau Marmont in LA, and the internet went crazy. And can we talk about the fact that none of them have aged a day? Black don’t crack is an understatement.
Tracee Ellis Ross (aka Joan Clayton), Persia White (Lynn), Golden Brooks (Maya), Jill Marie Jones (Toni), Reggie Hayes (William), and the genius behind it all, Mara Brock Akil; they all pulled up like they never left.
