Sheer nail polishes in traditional beige and pale pink tones have dominated celebrity hands for a couple of years now, and I totally get it. The look is timeless, versatile, easy, and always pretty. But what if, like me, you love that glassy, barely-there look, but you’re craving a different color? Maybe not bold color, but not something entirely expected either. Well, gaze upon Demi Lovato’s latest look and you’ll find the solution to your nail ennui.
Over the weekend, nail artist Natalie Minerva shared a carousel to Instagram featuring both a photo and video close-up of Lovato’s glassy manicure. “Ghost jellies for @ddlovato for @trishapaytas Just Trish 💕✨ This black jelly that’s really just a cloudy sheer grey 🖤 I love this look for fall 🌧️🌫️,” she wrote in the caption.
Minerva elaborated to Allure, telling us that the gel polish she used to coat the short, ballerina-shape extensions “was one of my picks that I make on my annual trip to Japan for nail items.” So it may not exactly be easy to recreate it down to every last detail.
