If you were waiting for the universe to answer the eternal question of life—”Should I get bangs?”—the 2024 MTV VMAs just answered that question with a stadium full of people screaming “Yes!”
Bangs were the reigning trend on the red carpet, as it seemed like basically everyone walking the red carpet was rocking either a fresh set of fringe or an update to their signature hairstyle. We saw big, fluffy curtain bangs. We saw ultra-precise brow-length bangs. We saw side bangs and wavy bangs, and all of this fringe was thick, full, or fluffy. Basically every style of bangs was present and accounted for, urging us all to pick up the scissors—or pick up the phone and book an appointment.

Our host for the evening, Megan Thee Stallion made her first appearance of many throughout the night in a sleek, chin-length bob with straight-across, brow-length bangs, styled by Kellon Deryck. This is definitely a go-to style for the rapper, and she recently wore a similar bright red look in Tokyo.
