BODY | Naturium Bath and Body Collection | Cosmetic Proof

I was able to try out four body washes and two lotions and right off the bat, packaging-wise, I love the big pumps and bottles! What I love specifically about the pumps is how large the surface area of the “push” part is! I have always wondered why pumps in showers were only big enough for a finger to push so having this “giant button” is amazing!

I also love the muted tones of the colours chosen. Yes, it is Instagram-worthy, but doesn’t look like a product just for a 20-year old. The back of each bottle also has a very informative chart showing the pH level of the product, the type of lather (light, rich, etc), the consistency, how it feels on the skin when used and how your skin will feel AFTER using the product. There is even a little skin barrier diagram of how each product works at the cellular level which is incredibly helpful! This is when you can see Susan’s influence!

This Glow Getter Multi-Oil Body Wash is one of my FAVOURITE body washes! Firstly, the scent is lightly vanilla, but more buttery so LOVE and then the texture really does go from oil to a shower gel to produce a very light lather! This is formulated with glycerin, upcycled apple extract, jojoba seed oil, rosehip oil and plant-derived squalane so that your skin still feels like skin after rinsing. Basically, this is a cleansing oil for the body as it works to condition the skin as well! You can use this oil directly on the skin or with a loofah or washcloth.

THE BRIGHTENER VITAMIN C BODY WASH

Smells somewhat like oranges, this body wash is a smooth gel cream texture formulated with ascorbyl glucoside, papain (from papaya), niacinamide, bromelain (from pineapple) and a variety of other brightening fruit enzymes to gently exfoliate and eliminate dullness. I also quite enjoyed using this body wash mostly for the texture and how my skin felt very “cushion-like” after rinsing! 

THE SMOOTHER GLYCOLIC ACID BODY WASH

Oooh, I can never resist a multi-AHA exfoliator especially one that can function as both a body and face wash! This cream body wash contains glycolic, lactic, malic and pyruvic acid all formulated to gently slough off dead skin cells and smooth uneven skin texture. If you areas on your body that need a little bit more exfoliation, leave this on for a little longer before rinsing off. This has been great for my legs and back and for preventing in-growns along my bikini line!

THE PERFECTOR SALICYLIC ACID BODY WASH

Not gonna lie, seeing a salicylic body wash seemed a bit scary to my skin, but have no fear because encapsulated salicylic acid is here! This means that salicylic acid is released over time to gradually exfoliate the skin. This body wash purifies and cleanses skin without drying and can also be used as a face cleanser! If you suffer from bacne, this is the body wash for you! My husband shaves his head and often gets breakouts on his scalp and back so he uses this body wash literally from head to toe to keep breakouts at bay. I feel like men’s products have always been marketed as 2-in-1, but never with any real benefits. With these Naturium body washes, I feel like this is the one time where the 2-in-1 idea is perfect!

RETINOL BODY LOTION

Now, we get into the body moisturizers! Starting with this shea butter-based, retinol encapsulated (so it’s not irritating to the skin) body lotion, this works to improve skin’s overall texture, tone and firmness. There is also allantoin to soothe the skin and minimize redness. In terms of texture, this lotion had a lovely thick, pillow-like texture that smoothly absorbed into the skin leaving it feeling soft. I also did not have to wait very long to put on pants which is a very important quality in a body moisturizer for me!

BIO-LIPID RESTORING BODY LOTION

Firstly, we LOVE a moisturizer with a big pump! This body lotion contains a lipid complex that is meant to mimic the lipids in the upper layer of our skin’s surface, replenishing moisture loss while absorbing quickly into the skin without feeling greasy. This makes my skin feel kind of pillowy and soft to the touch!

Final verdict: All of these are awesome! It feels a little bit like a skincare routine for your body, but the body washes I use the most would be the Glow Getter, Vitamin C and Glycolic Acid. I like that that you can use the Glycolic Acid on the face and I like the textures of the Glow Getter and Vitamin C in addition to the way my skin feels when I use them. While I don’t think it’s necessary to have ALL of them in your bathroom at once, I will definitely be repurchasing these!
