In line with Hairstory’s mission to offer haircare routines with fewer but better steps and products with fewer but better ingredients, Styling Gel has been formulated to prioritize hair health; there is no compromise on caring for the hair when styling.
Botanical extracts help nourish the hair, and built-in heat protection – up to 450°F – means it can be used for heat styling as well as air drying. The silicone-free formula is particularly noteworthy as this allows for the nourishing ingredients to penetrate the hair. Holding agents like PVP and polyquaternium-7 provide long-lasting control and definition to lock in curls, while baobab seed extract adds moisture, smooths frizz and strengthens strands for a soft, shiny finish. The silky texture glides effortlessly through hair thanks to coconut alkanes—a natural silicone alternative that enhances shine and slip without weighing hair down.
Usage instructions
For thick/tight curls and coils (3B-4C) and low porosity hair
Styling Gel should be applied to wet hair, in small to medium sections. Apply a quarter-sized amount of gel and rake through from roots to ends, adding more as needed. For extra definition, finger coil and finish by air drying, diffusing, twisting or braiding until your desired look is achieved.
For curly hair and thick waves (2C – 3A)
Styling Gel should be applied to damp or wet hair, in sections. For each section, squeeze a dime-sized amount of Styling Gel into your hands, then rake through from mid-lengths to ends. Air-dry for curl elongation or diffuse (or scrunch) for maximum curl and volume.
For sleek styles
Styling Gel can also be used on all hair types to create slick back and wet looks. Apply to damp hair, evenly distributing it and either air-dry or heat style. It can also be used to finish ponytails and updos and help smooth flyaways.
