Anyone who tries to tell you that Lindsay Lohan‘s signature look isn’t long, red hair is screwing with you. Through all the years we’ve known and loved her, she has strayed a couple of times, but her home-base hair is lengthy, ginger gorgeousness. But just because she tends to stick to a theme doesn’t mean she can’t have a little fun with slight variations, and her latest look is nothing short of yummy.
Lohan herself and hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos posted a few behind-the-scenes photos of the actor on Monday, July 29, showing off her look from a Morelli Brothers shoot. She’s positively glowing in a makeup look made up of warm neutrals and conspicuously cute freckles, but we’re even more enamored with her hair, which Giannetos calls “churro waves.”
What are churro waves, you ask? So did we.
“’Churro waves’ is the combination of flat waves and mermaid waves. It’s more stringy and styled in different directions,” Giannetos tells Allure. “Sweet and messy like churros.”
To achieve the look, he started with Nexxus Prep & Protect Heat Defense Spray, followed by the GHD Curve 1″ curling iron to create some bends. “After, I sprayed with Nexxus Comb Flexible Hold Hairspray. And on the crown, I used Slick Stick wax on a toothbrush to avoid all the flyaways.”
And can we talk about this color? Lohan has been leaning a little more strawberry blonde lately, but the blonde highlights that are popping out really bring out the cinnamon vibes—perfect for a churro-inspired texture.
