HAIR | Marc Anthony Hydra Lock Collection | Cosmetic Proof

The Hydra Lock collection focuses on weightless cleansing and moisture to prep your hair to undergo any hair styling. This appealed to me because I curl my hair every three days, dry my hair with a hair dryer most nights so using a haircare system that reinvigorated my hair to prep it for the inevitable heat abuse I put it through was welcome!

Moisture Recharge Shampoo

With jojoba oil micro-pearls and quinoa protein, this duo works provide weightless cleansing while providing lightweight hydration. The scent is on the stronger side, but is pleasant and I know this might not be a good thing, but I kind of enjoy the fact that this shampoo is blue! For a product that should be quite hydrating, I actually felt like it was not enough for my hair! My hair felt clean after rinsing, but not really that soft in texture.

This conditioner contains jojoba micro-pearls, quinoa and silk protein to provide soft and subtle lightweight conditioning for the hair. So…while this formula made my hair feel nicer, it STILL was not enough for me to happy with how my hair felt. I also felt like I lost a lot of volume at the roots even if I used a tiny amount on the top of my head.

Now, we are talkin’! This conditioning treatment contains avocado and grapeseed oil and hydrolyzed quinoa which worked WAY better for my hair! Only when I used this product did my hair feel soft and when I blow-dried, the texture was nicer. I still felt like I did not have the volume I wanted at the roots even if I didn’t use any of this product on the top of my head so to really get the volume I wanted, I had to use a volumizing creme when blow-drying.

Instant Moisture Recharge Hair Mist

This lightweight mist contains silk and quinoa protein and is a beautiful finishing product after blow-drying or styling. Kind of like a lightweight hair oil, but much finer. It provides a bit of softness, smoothness and shine without feeling like I have a ton of product in my hair. This is especially important since I only wash it every third day. 

Final verdict: I had wanted this collection to be more hydrating for my hair than it was, but I did come away with a new favourite moisturizing hair mask!
