Stella Chroma Romeo + Juliet, Summer 2026 Collection

Press Sample

More Stella Chroma! At Polish and Beauty Expo yesterday, Stella Chroma did an early release of her new summer collection inspired by the 1996 Romeo + Juliet. I love this movie (more on that) and was so excited to see the colors and names of the polishes. This collection releases on Friday, July 24th, so let’s check out too many swatches!

STELLA CHROMA Summer Release – Romeo + Juliet

I love Romeo + Juliet! I think Baz Luhrmann creates such fun movies! The choke hold Moulin Rouge had on me was like omg ridiculous. His style of directing is maximalist to the max lol so it is always a visual party when I watch his movies. This version of Romeo and Juliet was so awesome! The colors in this collection are inspired by influential scenes and scenery so let’s look at this four-piece collection. As a note, I took sun pictures when we have poor air quality and smoke from the wildfires, so if my hands look a little orange, that’s why!

In
Fair Verona – This shade is inspired by Verona itself. The 1996 version
is gritty, opulent, glittery. But zoom out, and you see that it is
dusty and dirty. The polish itself is a neutral beige that is packed
with as many iridescent rainbow flakies as I could fit. Opaque in 2
coats.

In Fair Verona: 2 coats. I love a sparkly neutral. This one has a thicker base because of all of those rainbow flakes so definitely do a thinner first coat. It leveled out with the second coat. I absolutely love this as a work-appropriate manicure if your job requires it. This one is just loaded with so many flakes so enjoy it. Everything did lay flat so no issues with that.

I Defy You, Stars – Inspired by the scene in the desert when Romeo learns of Juliet’s death. Vivid orange with blue/yellow shifting shimmer, silver holo flakies, and a rainbow of iridescent flakies.

I Defy You, Stars: 2 coats. I feel like Stella Chroma is so good at making oranges and I always love them and gravitate towards them. This one is so perfect for summer as it sort of has a creamsicle vibe to it. I absolutely feel like this is a perfect desert color so it really works out with her inspiration. Love this color and the holo flakes within the polish.

Sin
From Thy Lips – This gorgeous burgundy color was inspired by the
costume ball where Romeo and Juliet meet. Deep, rich color with silver
chromatic flakies as a nod to Romeo’s knight-in-shining-armor costume
and white shimmer in tribute to Juliet’s angel costume. Opaque in 2-3
coats.

Sin From Thy Lips: 2 coats. This is definitely a romantic color and perfectly fitting with the scene. I really like the deep color, especially for Valentine’s Day and also as it gets towards autumn. I also think this would be a gorgeous summer pedicure right now. I don’t know why I thought it might stain, but it didn’t at all. This is a super wearable burgundy, vixen-like color.

I Do Bite My Thumb, Sir – A bright, cobalt blue with blue
shimmer, silver holo flakies, and matte yellow hex glitters. Inspired by
the hectic, chaotic opening scene of a shootout at a gas station
between the Capulet and Montague families.

I Do Bite My Thumb, Sir: 2 coats. Honestly, if you apply this correctly, you can get it completely opaque in one coat. But I opted to do two thin coats for the photos. I just have to say I appreciate Pam making a polish of this color because I remember reading this in middle school and us discussing the different Shakespearean insults and what that meant during the time. I always think of Mercutio with this line as he is such a bad boy but Sampson does the thumb biting. Yet, I can’t read the name of this polish without imagining the actor who played Mercutio every time even though he did not say it. I had to watch the scene again and this polish is perfect as it is filled with blue and yellow cars and just so much chaos.

So what do you think? This is a fun summer collection that I feel has a little something for everyone. My favorite is I Defy You, Stars because I just love a Stella Chroma orange!

STELLA CHROMA’s summer release will officially release on her website on Friday, July 24th at noon. Each color will be $13.50 each, and will be available as a discounted
set from 7/24-8/7 at $50.
