What does dual-mechanism mean in a massage chair?
You may see terms like Dual Mech, Dual Max, Dual Tech, or Duo Technology. Different manufacturers use different names, but they all refer to the same basic concept: the chair has two separate roller mechanisms instead of one.
A traditional massage chair has a single roller mechanism that travels up and down your back. Whether it uses two rollers or four, it’s still one mechanism moving along a single track.
With a dual-mechanism chair, that single system is divided into two independent roller mechanisms.
The upper mechanism massages from your neck down through your mid and lower back, while the lower mechanism focuses on your lower back, hips, and glutes.
Because the two mechanisms operate independently, they can work together at the same time. Instead of one set of rollers traveling the full length of your back, you have two sets of rollers working in harmony on different areas of your spine simultaneously.
The result is a more continuous and comprehensive massage. It’s almost like having two massage therapists working on you at the same time—one focusing on your upper back and shoulders, and the other concentrating on your lower back and glutes.
