How Massage Chair Airbags Boost Comfort And Full Body Relief

Massage chairs come with rollers and airbags. We don’t talk about the airbags as much, but they play a key role. They compress, knead, oscillate, or move different parts of your body while you’re sitting in the chair.

The intensity of the airbags can be adjusted on every massage chair. You can make them stronger for more compression or lighter for less pressure on your body. They’re primarily used on the legs, arms, hands, feet, and calves.

The most important thing is being able to adjust the intensity. If it feels too strong, simply turn it down. That said, some chairs are still too intense even at the lowest setting.

One important note: On most massage chairs, when you change the airbag intensity, it adjusts all the airbags at the same time—making them either stronger or gentler across the entire chair.

However, a few newer models now let you adjust the intensity of separate sections independently. Examples include the Infinity Circadian Dual Flex, the Luraco iRobotics chairs, and certain Osaki flagship models. With these, you can lower the intensity just in the arms, legs, or feet, for example.
