Holy cow, today is 14 years since this blog debuted! Since then, nail trends have certainly changed with indies becoming more mainstream and mainstream companies closing. I have always loved the idea of sharing art that is approachable and hoping that you can apply the methods with products that you already own. I hope that over these past 14 years, I have been able to inspire a nail art or even a nail polish purchase and help you to feel your best self. I love a fresh manicure and even all these years later, I still love doing my nails. I hope you enjoy seeing them. So letβs check out my blog anniversary look which also as always is my birthday look.
Β
You know I always like to reach for neons and to do a rainbowy look for my birthday. And as the inception of this blog was my birthday manicure, I like to keep that tradition whether I do a plain color or art. My absolute favorite neons are the pastel neons and I can never get enough of them. I just love how wearable they are versus a true neon and I feel like I reach for them all the time. So I knew for this year because I had the time, that I wanted to do a nail art with some pastel neons.
I reached for colors that I tend to use a lot, but also pulled out some colors that havenβt been used in a while and I love doing that. I didnβt have my blue that I wanted to use as I lent it to someone so I opted for a teal which I think was awesome too.
- Base: KBShimmer What a Pearl Wants with KBShimmer In a FlurryΒ
- Darker pink: Zoya Yohanna
- Light pink: KBShimmer Pink or Swim
- Orange: KBShimmer Push Your Luck
- Yellow: KBShimmer Sand By Me
- Teal: Julie G Tropical
- Purple: Zoya Paisley
Oh my goodness just look at how gorgeous this is in the sun. The creams works so well with the shimmer. I also added a coat of holo flake topcoat, which wasnβt too obvious, but I do think gave an extra hint of sparkle. I thought of doing a hollow glitter, but decided that would distract too much from my neon squiggles.
